§ 32.01 ESTABLISHMENT
   There is hereby created the office of City Clerk, an executive department of the city. It shall consist of the City Clerk, who shall be the head of the department and all employees assigned thereto. All employees shall perform their duties subject to the supervision of the City Clerk. The City Clerk shall supervise his/her department in accordance with the applicable personnel sections and chapter 40 of this code, and shall exercise the powers and perform the duties as customarily conferred and required by applicable ordinance, resolution, or lawful directive. The position of the City Clerk is hereby declared as classified service an he/she shall be appointed and removed by the City Manager in accordance with the personnel rules and regulations.
