Section 151.08.009 Bus Bench/Bus Shelter Requirements
A.   General Requirements
   All bus benches and bus shelters, used in conjunction with the public transit system, must meet all performance standards as set forth by the City Engineer and/or the Department of Purchasing. Bus benches may be used for the purpose of advertisement, see Section 151.10.003.P.
B.   Location Requirements
   1.   No bus bench or bus shelter shall be located closer than 15 feet to any fire hydrant or any ingress/egress accessway. See Figure 24.
   
 
 
   2.   No bus bench or bus shelter shall be located closer than four feet from any curb line in zoning districts requiring a four foot sidewalk and no closer than five feet from any curb line in zoning districts requiring a five foot sidewalk. Also, no bus bench or bus shelter shall be located closer than five feet to any structure, see Figure 25.
 
   3.   No bus bench or bus shelter shall be located over any utility vault, grating cellar door or utility line outlet.
   4.   The location of any bus bench or bus shelter may be restricted in residential areas.
   5.    All final locations of bus benches and bus shelters shall be approved by the city.
C.   Other Requirements
   No improvements allowed under this provision shall be placed in the public right-of-way without first obtaining a right-of-way permit as outlined in Section 151.08.001.F.1.
