§ 43.02 PRESIDING OFFICER.
   (A)   The presiding officer of the Municipal Court shall be the Magistrate of the city who shall be appointed by the Mayor and City Council to hold office for a term of two years, to run concurrently with the term of office of the Mayor and City Council, or until his or her successor is appointed and qualified. The Magistrate may be removed from office by the Mayor and City Council for cause.
   (B)   The designation “Magistrate” is defined to include “Police or City Judge” or “Associate.”
   (C)   The Magistrate of the city shall receive such compensation as shall be from time to time provided by the Mayor and City Council.
