A. General Requirements
1. Any device mounted on or attached to City property must meet all applicable laws and codes including but not limited to NEC, FCC, UBC, MUTCD, Federal, State and Local Codes.
2. Any device and mounting and/or attachment to City property must include a professional engineering review, approval, and acceptance by the City prior to any work being performed. A right-of-way permit must be obtained through the Department of Engineering for any work performed in the public right-of-way.
3. Any incidental cost related to proprietary equipment to include but not limited to electrical power, damage, installation, and maintenance shall be borne by the proprietary equipment provider or designated agent.
4. The NEC requires telecommunications devices sharing a utility pole to be mounted a minimum of 40 inches beneath the lowest electrical wire, fixture or device. Any attachment to Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC) equipment requires approval from SSVEC.
5. Communications facilities shall be placed on existing structures only. The height shall not exceed 10’ above the existing structure.
