131.30   RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS.
   All persons appointed to public safety positions within the Police Department and the Department of Fire and Emergency services shall reside in Shelby County or a county adjacent to Shelby County or establish a residence in Shelby County, or a county adjacent to Shelby County, within twelve (12) months after their appointment. All other persons appointed to positions with the City shall reside within an appropriate distance to the City based upon the position held. When special conditions or situations exist the City Manager may waive this residence requirement.
