§ 171.01  SALARIES FOR TOWN COUNCIL AND CLERK/TREASURER.
   (A)   (1)   The Town Council shall, by ordinance, fix the compensation of its own members and the Town Clerk/Treasurer. The Town Council shall provide reasonable compensation for other contract employees or services.
      (2)   The compensation of an elected town officer may not be changed in the year for which it is fixed, nor may it be reduced below the amount fixed for the year 2021.
      (3)   The Town Council may provide that town officers and employees receive additional compensation for services that:
         (a)   Are performed for the town;
         (b)   Are not governmental in nature; and
         (c)   Are connected with the operation of a municipally-owned utility or function.
      (4)   Subject to the approval of the Town Council, operating of the utility or function shall fix the amount of the additional compensation, which shall be paid from the revenues of the utility or function.
   (B)   (1)   Any prior salary ordinance previously entered into by the Board be, and they hereby are, amended to reflect a change in salaries as follows:
         (a)   Clerk/Treasurer: $3,100 annually;
         (b)   President: $1,600 annually; and
         (c)   Board member: $1,600 annually.
      (2)   These new salaries should be paid in the same regular payment installments currently in effect for payments to Town Board members.
      (3)   The salaries set out herein shall be effective beginning January 1, 2021, and each year thereafter until such time as amended by subsequent ordinance.
      (4)   Any prior salary ordinances of the town to the extent not modified, changed or amended by this section, shall remain in full force and effect.
