A. Conduct And Content: The examinations shall be conducted by the Board as hereinafter provided and shall be practical in character and relate to those matters which will fairly test the capacity of the persons examined to discharge the duties of the positions to which they seek appointment.
B. Notice Of Examination: Notice of the time and place of every examination shall be given by the Board by a publication at least two (2) weeks preceding the examination in one or more newspapers published in the Municipality or, if no newspaper is published therein, then in one or more newspapers with a general circulation within the Municipality; except, on promotional examinations, notice may be waived, in writing, by all members of the Fire and Police Departments for which the promotional examination is to be given.
C. Exemption From Examination: Any full-time member of the Police Department shall become a member of the Police Department in the position held by him at the effective date hereof without examination. (Ord. 85-389, 3-12-1985)
