It shall be unlawful for the owners or occupants of property situated within the city’s residential districts (as determined by reference to the city zoning ordinance, Chapter 1201) to store in any container or tank or in any other manner in excess of ten gallons of motor vehicle fuel, whether in the form of gasoline, diesel fuel or otherwise. Storage tanks in existence at the effective date hereof, containing quantities of motor vehicle fuel in excess of such limit, shall be permitted to be emptied at the usual and presently accustomed rate; however, such tanks shall not be permitted to be refilled in excess of the limits stated herein.
