(A) There is hereby created and established a Civil Service Commission for the Police and Fire Departments of the city. The city selects to operate the civil service system under the provisions of KRS 90.310 through 90.400.

(B) The offices of Police Chief and Assistant Police Chief are excluded from classified service pursuant to the authorization of KRS 95.761(4)(a).
