§ 35.23 TAMPERING WITH WATER PIPES, FIRE HYDRANTS, AND THE LIKE.
   It shall be unlawful for any person except officers and members of the Shively Fire Department, authorized employees of the Louisville Extension Water District and authorized employees of the Shively Department of Public Works to open or close any valve on any fire hydrant, water pipe, fire cistern, water plug, or other water outlet in or upon the public ways of the city, or to in any way tamper with any of the pipes, cisterns, hydrants, plugs, or other outlets, unless the person has a written permit to do so from the Louisville Extension Water District issued in a form to be furnished by the Louisville Extension Water District over the signature of a duly authorized agent or representative of the Louisville Extension Water District. This permit or authorization shall be in the possession of the person so opening or closing the valves, pipes, hydrants, plugs, or other outlets at the time such opening or closing is made or being made, or when water is being drawn from the pipes, hydrants, fire cisterns, plugs, or other outlets.
