§ 35.21 FIRE CHIEF.
   The Fire Chief shall plan, supervise, direct, and be responsible for the overall operation and activities of the Fire Department. He shall further have the duties, responsibilities, and powers which may be assigned under statute. The Fire Chief shall further provide the Mayor with periodic written reports necessary to evaluate the general performance of the Fire Department and its personnel and shall provide for the safekeeping of all records and paper work in the Fire Department. The Fire Chief shall be under the direct supervision of the Mayor and shall account to him for all actions within the Fire Department. Prior to taking office, the Fire Chief will take an oath to faithfully perform the duties of his office and that he possesses the requisite qualifications for the office. The Fire Chief shall be paid an annual salary in an amount as established by Council from time to time.
