§ 33.59 FIREARMS TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION.
   (A)   The Department firearms training and certification program will be the same as that deemed appropriate by the Town Marshal and with approval of Town Council.
   (B)   All aspects of the firearms training program will include the officers on-duty and secondary weapon.
   (C)   Firearms certification shall be required by the Town Marshal and with the approval of Town Council, who will be apprized of each certification and each certification result. In the event of any accidental discharge, the officer involved must undergo an immediate recertification training prior to returning to full duty.
   (D)   Should the member fail to meet certification standards, the Town Marshal may determine if the authority to carry the weapon shall be immediately revoked by the (certifying authority) and written notification of such revocation shall be forwarded to the member’s commanding officer, training unit, personnel unit and the Town Marshal. Officers who fail to achieve certification after attending remedial firearms training will be placed on suspension. After 30 days on suspension, if the officer has still failed to achieve certification, his or her situation shall be reviewed by the Town Marshal.
