§ 33.25 PURSUIT DRIVING CONDITIONS.
   (A)   PURSUIT is defined as a sustained chase of a known or suspected law violator and is permitted in the following circumstances:
      (1)   On-sight pursuit of a known or suspected felon;
      (2)   On-sight pursuit of traffic or misdemeanor violators witnessed by the officer;
      (3)   To assist the pursuing vehicle, but only when ordered to do so through communications from the Hancock or Henry County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, or Shirley Town Marshal.
   (B)   The following pursuit procedures shall be observed:
      (1)   While operating under pursuit conditions, red lights and siren must be operating;
      (2)   The pursuing officer shall notify the Hancock or Henry County Sheriff’s Department Communication Center immediately of the following:
         (a)   Unit number;
         (b)   Location;
         (c)   Direction of travel;
         (d)   Reason for pursuit;
         (e)   Description of vehicle, occupants, license number and the like;
      (3)   The officer shall remain in constant contact with the applicable jurisdiction and advise of all pertinent information until such time as additional units aid in the pursuit.
