§ 33.23 EMERGENCY OPERATION AND PURSUIT DRIVING.
   (A)   Police vehicles should be operated on an emergency basis only when the officer has reasonable cause to believe a life is in danger or when in immediate pursuit of a law violator. Such emergency includes:
      (1)   Officer needs assistance;
      (2)   Person calling for help;
      (3)   Report of explosion;
      (4)   Report of shooting;
      (5)   Any case requiring the immediate and urgent need of an officer.
   (B)   While operating a police vehicle under normal emergency conditions, the red and blue lights and siren must be operating, with the exception of a silent run.
