(A) (1) The Board of Trustees of the Fund shall consist of five members, two appointed by the Mayor and two elected by the members of the Police Department, and one elected by the beneficiaries of the Pension Fund.
(2) One of the members appointed by the Mayor shall serve from 10-5-1998 until the second Tuesday in May, 1999. The other appointed member shall serve from 10-5-1998 until the second Tuesday in May, 2000. Their successors shall serve for two years each or until their successors are appointed and qualified. The elections for Board Members shall be held biennially on the third Monday in April.
(B) Members of the Board shall neither receive nor have any right to receive any salary from the pension fund for services performed as trustees in that office. There shall be in the Board the powers and duties, as provided by law.
