(A) The Sheridan Department of Redevelopment (the Department), controlled by a board of five members to be known as the Sheridan Redevelopment Commission (the Commission) is hereby created and established.
(B) The Department and the Commission shall be governed by I.C. 36-7-14, the Act, and the Department and Commission shall have the power and authority to do and perform all things now or hereafter granted to it by the Act.
(C) Pursuant to I.C. 36-7-14-6.1, three of the members of the Commission shall be appointed by the Town Council President, and two members shall be appointed by the Town Council.
(D) Pursuant to I.C. 36-7-14-7, the members first appointed to the Commission shall serve until January 1, 1999, unless the commissioner is removed from office by the president or council that appointed the commissioner as permitted by I.C. 36-7-14-9. Redevelopment commissioners shall serve one year terms thereafter unless removed.
(E) Each person appointed to the Commission shall take and subscribe an oath in the usual form, to be endorsed on the certificate of appointment, which shall be promptly filed with the Sheridan Clerk-Treasurer, and shall execute a bond payable to the state in the amount of $15,000.
(F) Each person appointed to the Commission shall be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the town.
