§ 152.62 ASSIGNMENT OF STREET ADDRESS NUMBERS TO SEPARATE BUILDINGS OR SEPARATE EXTERIOR UNITS.
   (A)   The town Plan Commission shall develop a plan and system whereby every separate building within the town is assigned an individual street address number. As it deems necessary, the Plan Commission may also require and provide for the assignment of any individual street address number to each separate exterior unit. In adopting any such numbering plan, the Commission shall:
      (1)   Consult with the Postmaster of any federal post office providing mail service to the affected area of the town and that plan shall conform with any applicable regulations of the U.S. Postal Service; and
      (2)   To the maximum extent possible, incorporate and continue to use any existing and established street address numbers; and,
      (3)   Present the plan for approval and ratification by the Town Council before its implementation.
   (B)   Any person who establishes or constructs any separate building (or a separate exterior unit, when applicable) which has not already been assigned a street address number in accordance with this section shall apply to the Director of Planning and Development, who shall assign the number according to the numbering plan adopted by the Commission. The owner or occupant of any separate building (or separate exterior unit, when applicable) to which an official street address number has been assigned shall display that number at or upon the door, front or street entrance to the separate building or exterior unit in a place readily visible from the public way.
