(A) It is the policy of the town to provide equal employment opportunity to all persons without regard to their race, creed, color, sex, handicap, or national origin, and to promote the full realization of equal employment opportunity through a positive and continuing program. The town shall enact policies which reflect compliance to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination Employment Act of 1967, The Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, and Executive Orders 4141 and 11246, which eliminates any and all restrictions, if any based on race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap or national origin with respect to recruiting, hiring, training, compensation overtime, job classifications and assignments, working conditions promotions, transfers, employee treatment and any other aspects of employment.
(B) The town will assure that applicants are recruited and hired and that employees are treated during employment without regard to race, creed, religion, sex, color, handicap or national origin. The town shall not discriminate against the handicapped and shall afford to the handicapped, as to all of its citizens, equal opportunity to participate in employment with the town and to enjoy the full benefits of equal employment as is insured to all employees of the town.
(C) It is the intent of the town in the implementation of this policy to provide opportunities for members of minority groups, and to employ significant numbers of minorities and females at all job levels through upgrading and recruiting actions. Furthermore, it is the town policy to coordinate the Affirmative Action Program in such a manner as to encourage all employees, especially minority and female and handicap employees to advance within the limits of each individual's capabilities.
(D) It shall be the policy of the town to make known its Affirmative Action Program to all those who deal with the town.
