§ 34.03 MONEY AND FEES COLLECTED BY OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES DELIVERED TO CLERK-TREASURER; DISPOSITION.
   Every officer or employee of the town or a municipal entity shall, at least once a day, turn over to the Clerk-Treasurer all money received by him or her in his or her official capacity, with a statement showing the purpose and source from which received. If the office of the Clerk-Treasurer is not open for business on a day or time when money is received, it shall be delivered to the Clerk-Treasurer at the earliest subsequent opportunity. An officer or employee may not directly retain any portion of money collected, but the Town Council may, by ordinance, provided certain officers or employees be compensated on the basis of a portion of fees collected. Unless otherwise provided by statute or ordinance, fees and other money shall be deposited in the general fund.
