§ 35.51 APPOINTMENT AND ELECTION OF JUDGE; TERM AND BOND.
   (A)   The judge of the Town Court shall be elected at the municipal election in November 2019.
   (B)   The term of the judge elected shall be four years beginning at 12:00 noon on January 1, 2020, and continuing until a successor is elected. Before beginning the duties of office, the judge shall take and subscribe to the same oath of office as judges of circuit courts and, in the manner prescribed by IC 5-4-1, execute a bond in the penal sum of $5,000, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of the judge’s office with good and sufficient surety. The bond must be approved by the Town Council and filed in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer.
   (C)   The judge must be an attorney in good standing admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana.
