(A) The official badge of the Police Department shall be as follows: For the Chief of Police, a shield surmounted with an eagle with the coat of arms of the state in center of shield and a ribbon design or shield above and below the coat of arms engraved with the following: "Chief", "Shelbyville", "Police". For the assistants and regular police officers the shield shall be the same as the above design and with the following engraved on the ribbon design: "Shelbyville", "Police", "Number".
(B) It shall be unlawful for anyone other than members of the Police Department to wear upon their clothing or person one of these badges or a facsimile of them.
