§ 27.102 RECEIPT OF GIFTS
No officer or employee of the city or any city agency shall directly, or indirectly through any other person or business, solicit or accept any gift having a fair market value of more than one hundred dollars ($100), whether in the form of money, service, loan, travel, entertainment, hospitality, thing or promise, or any other form, under circumstances in which it could reasonably be inferred that the gift was intended to influence, or could reasonably be expected to influence the officer or employee in the performance of his or her public duties. Any gift of personal property having a fair market value of more than one hundred dollars ($100) may be accepted by an officer or employee of the city or any city agency only if ownership of the gift is vested in the city and the gift may be utilized by other city officers or employees. An officer or employee may be reimbursed or accept payment for travel and expenses exceeding one hundred dollars ($100) for official fact finding trips if the fact finding trip is approved in advance by the Mayor. This provision shall not apply to the solicitation or acceptance of contributions to the campaign of an announced candidate for elective public office as governed by the Kentucky Revised Statutes.
