§ 50.304 NOTICE AND REMOVAL BY POLICE
   (A)   Notice. Whenever it reasonably appears to the Police Chief or Code Enforcement Officer that a violation has occurred, he or she shall issue or cause to issue a notice to the violator, which shall be in writing, specifying the violation and its location and ordering the violator to remove the vehicle within five (5) days from the date of service of the notice.
   (B)   Removal by police. If the violator does not comply to the notice, any member of the Police Department of the city or Code Enforcement Officer is authorized to remove or have removed any vehicle left at any place within the city which reasonably appears to be in violation of this section or lost, stolen, or unclaimed. The vehicle shall be impounded until lawfully claimed or disposed of. Any vehicle abandoned on a street or highway shall be removed and disposed of in conformity with KRS 189.751.
