§ 50.203 DYNAMIC TRUCK BRAKING
No person shall use a dynamic braking system, or engine retarding system, on a truck or commercial vehicle while operating on streets or highways within the city limits of Shelbyville that results in excessive or unusually loud noise. A DYNAMIC BRAKING SYSTEM is defined as a device usually placed on large trucks for the conversion of an engine from an internal combustion engine to an air compressor, or any other type of engine retarder, for the purpose of braking without the use of brakes, that results in excessive noise levels when utilized. Noise from such a vehicle plainly audible at a distance of fifty (50) feet or more from the vehicle generating such noise shall be prima facie evidence of a violation of this section.
