(A) No person shall operate any pile driver, steam shovel, pneumatic hammer, or other equipment, the use of which is attended by loud or unusual noises, without receiving a permit from the appropriate city official.
(B) Except in an emergency, no permit shall be issued to operate such equipment between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday. No such permit shall be issued for any time on Sunday. The city may further restrict the operation of loud equipment in residential areas to specific hours for limited amounts of time between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekdays.
