Private fire service mains and water tanks shall be periodically inspected, tested and maintained in accordance with NFPA 25 as adopted by the Commission in effect at the time of inspection, testing, or maintenance at the following intervals:
(A) Private fire hydrants (all types). Inspection annually and after each operation; flow and maintenance annually.
(B) Fire service main piping. Inspection of exposed, annually; flow test every 5 years.
(C) Fire service main piping strainers. Inspection and maintenance after each use.
(D) Private hydrants shall be painted red, and meet NFPA color coding standards.
(E) Water mains shall be a minimum of eight inches.
(F) Hydrants shall be free from obstructions at all times, with a minimum of three feet clearance from any safeguards or debris.
