If any provision of this chapter is declared invalid, by a court of competent jurisdiction, for any reason, the remaining provisions shall not be affected, if such remaining provisions can, without the invalid provision or provisions, be given their original intended effect in adopting this chapter. To this end, the provisions of this chapter are severable.
