§ 30.20 BUY MONEY PROGRAM.
   (A)   The Police Department may conduct a program whereby buy money is used to purchase controlled substances and pay informants, pursuant to the following conditions:
      (1)   An appropriation for such purpose from 101-008-395 Law Enforcement Aid Fund must be obtained in the manner authorized by state statutes;
      (2)   In operating the program, the Department shall follow the procedures set forth in I.C. 36-1-8-3; and
      (3)   The Department shall adopt and follow a minimum documentation procedure, similar to:
         (a)   "Guidelines for the Expenditure of Confidential Funds," published by the U.S. Department of Criminal Justice; and/or
         (b)   "Guidelines for Obtaining and Accounting for Confidential Funds Used in Support of Criminal Investigations," (Revised S.O.P. PR-INV-0017), by the Indiana State Police Department.
   (B)   The operation of the above described program prior to the passage of this section is ratified.
