For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
APPRENTICE PLUMBER. A person who wishes to engage in the art and business of plumbing and is willing to serve his or her period of training and instruction under one or more persons already experienced and engaged in the business of plumbing.
FIXTURE. A water closet, lavatory, bathtub, shower, urinal, floor drain, laundry equipment, icebox drain, drinking fountain, disposal unit, sink, heating boiler (either steam or hot water), gas unit heater, domestic hot water heater, and any appliance or equipment similar to any or either of the foregoing items.
JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER. A person who has completed his or her period of apprenticeship and has successfully passed his or her examination to qualify as a plumber.
PLUMBING. The art and science of installing in buildings the pipes, fixtures, and other apparatus for bringing water supply and removing liquids and water- carried wastes.
PLUMBING CONTRACTOR. A person engaged in the operation of a plumbing, steam fitting, or gas fitting business.
