(A) Every yield sign shall bear the word “YIELD” in letters not less than six inches in height. Every yield sign shall at nighttime be rendered luminous by internal illumination, by a floodlight projected on the face of the sign, or by efficient reflecting elements in the face of the sign. Every yield sign shall be located as near as practicable at the nearest line of the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or, if none, at the nearest line of the roadway.
(B) In residence and business districts, and at any place where parked vehicles may frequently obscure the yield signs, the signs shall be mounted so they are visible to oncoming traffic. The left edge of the sign shall be not less than one foot nor more than three feet back from the face of the curb. Where there is a crosswalk marked on the pavement, the sign shall be erected four feet in advance of the crosswalk line nearest to approaching traffic.
(C) The Traffic Safety Officer is authorized to determine and designate intersections where particular hazards exist upon other than through streets, may designate such an intersection as a yield intersection, and erect yield signs at one or more entrances to these intersections.
