§ 51.07 WATER UTILITIES.
   (A)   For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      PEAK GALLONAGE DEMANDS. The highest 15 days’ usage recorded by the water utility, or its predecessor, during the previous calendar year.
      WATER UTILITY. Any utility providing, furnishing, or selling water to any person.
   (B)   All water supplied by a water utility to any person shall meet or exceed quality requirements established by the State Board of Health.
   (C)   Any water utility operating within the corporate limits of the city, or supplying water to any person within the city, shall at all times provide water pressure throughout its franchise area of no less than 55 pounds per square inch.
   (D)   Any water utility operating within the corporate limits of the city, or supplying water to any person within the city, shall at all times maintain a capacity of no less than 120% of its measured peak gallonage demands.
   (E)   No water utility shall maintain or utilize any well field existing within one mile of any known source of contamination. Upon learning of the existence of a source of contamination, a water utility will have a six months’ grace period in which to eliminate the source of contamination or to relocate the well field. This grace period shall not serve to relieve the water utility from its responsibility to comply with the provisions of division (B) above.
