§ 50.009 CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION INSPECTION OF SANITARY SEWERS REQUIRED.
   The construction contractor shall be required to perform a closed circuit television inspection of the sanitary sewer between manholes as follows:
   (A)   A camera equipped with remote control devices to adjust the light intensity and 1,000 linear feet of sewer cable shall be provided.
      (1)   The camera should be able to transmit a continuous image to the television monitor as it is being pulled through the pipe. The image shall be clear enough to enable the engineer and others viewing the monitor to easily evaluate the interior condition of the pipe.
      (2)   The camera should have a digital display for linear footage and project number and an audio voice-over shall be made during the inspection identifying problems.
   (B)   The pipe shall be thoroughly cleaned before the camera is installed and television is commenced.
   (C)   (1)   The VHS tape of the entire sewer line and reproduction map indicating the pipe segment numbers of all the pipe that has been televised shall be submitted to the owner, and/or the city for their records.
      (2)   If any pipe and/or joint is found to be leaking, the contractor shall be required to repair that portion of the pipe to the satisfaction and approval of the engineer and Superintendent.
   (D)   (1)   The televised inspection should take place after the back-filling has been in place for 30 days. This test can be done at the same time of the deflection test.
      (2)   The contractor will bear all costs for tests and testing equipment.
