§ 35.041 SPECIAL ENTITLEMENT OF HEALTH BENEFITS FOR QUALIFYING PUBLIC SAFETY AND NON-SAFETY RETIREES.
   (A)   The city agrees to pay three-fourths of the retirees health insurance premium, and the retiree will pay one-fourth of the premium until the retiree or dependent spouse reaches the age of 65.
   (B)   A surviving spouse or dependent that is eligible for coverage may elect to continue coverage under the plan after the death of the retiree, and is subject to the same terms as stated in division (A).
   (C)   To qualify for the benefit, the qualifying person must meet the following conditions:
      (1)   Must complete 20 years of service with ten years consecutive service.
      (2)   Must be presently enrolled in the city's health plan.
      (3)   Must elect coverage within 60 days from retirement date.
