§ 35.016 HOLIDAY LEAVE.
   (A)   Designated holidays. The following, and any other days the Mayor may designate, shall be holidays with pay for all hourly full-time and probationary employees.
      (1)   New Year’s Day;
      (2)   Primary Election Day;
      (3)   Memorial Day;
      (4)   Fourth of July;
      (5)   Labor Day;
      (6)   General Election Day;
      (7)   Thanksgiving Day;
      (8)   Christmas Day.
   (B)   Holiday pay. Hourly employees who are required to work on a designated holiday shall be paid at the rate of one-half times the hourly rate to pay for the hours worked, in addition to the regular holiday pay.
   (C)   Eligibility. To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must have worked the immediately preceding scheduled workday and the next succeeding scheduled workday following the holiday, unless otherwise approved by department head. A certified physician statement may be requested for absences due to illness or injury.
