§ 33.14 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION.
   (A)   Creation. There is created, in addition to the existing executive departments of this city, an Economic Development Commission.
   (B)   Commission members. The Economic Development Commission shall be composed of three members, to be known as the Shelbyville Economic Development Commission, pursuant to and with all the powers and authority granted by law.
   (C)   Authority of Commission. The Economic Development Commission is authorized to enter into negotiations with any person, firm, or corporation pursuant to I.C. 36-7-12-1 et seq. for the purpose of acquiring and leasing industrial facilities to others in an effort to expand employment opportunities and diversification of industry, and to benefit the economic welfare of the city.
