§ 31.01  CHAIRPERSON; SELECTION AND DUTIES.
   (A)   The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings of the Board of Trustees and perform all duties of his or her office in accordance with the laws of the state and the ordinances of the village.
   (B)   (1)   The Chairperson of the Board of Trustees shall cause the ordinances of the Board to be printed and published for the information of the inhabitants and cause such ordinances to be carried into effect.
      (2)   In the absence of the Chairperson from any meeting of the Board, the Board shall have power to appoint a Chairperson pro tempore, who shall exercise and have the powers and perform the same duties as the regular Chairperson.

   (C)   The Chairperson and the Chairperson pro tempore shall have the same powers and privileges as other members of the Board of Trustees.
   (D)   All Trustees elected to office shall qualify and meet on the first regular meeting of the Board of Trustees in December thereafter, organize, elect a Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, and appoint the officers required by law.

   (E)   The Chairperson shall be authorized and directed to proceed with the formulation of any and all contracts, documents, or other memoranda between the village and the Nebraska Department of Economic Development so as to effect acceptance of the grant application.
