§ 30.40  MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS.
   (A)   The appointive officials and other employees of the village shall receive such compensation as the Board of Trustees shall designate by ordinance; and the annual salary of the Chairperson and other members of the Board of Trustees shall be fixed by ordinance.

   (B)   Trustees may perform and, upon Village Board of Trustees approval, receive compensation for seasonal or emergency work subject to § 30.41.

   (C)   The village may enact ordinances or bylaws to regulate and prescribe the compensation of officers not provided for in state law.

   (D)   No officer shall receive any pay or perquisites from the village other than his or her salary. The Board of Trustees shall not pay or appropriate any money or other valuable thing to any person not an officer for the performance of any act, service, or duty, the doing or performance of which shall come within the proper scope of the duties of any officer of the village.

   (E)   The salary of any elective officer shall not be increased or diminished during the term for which he or she shall have been elected, except when there has been a combination and merger of offices as provided in § 32.02, except that when there are officers elected to the Board of Trustees, or any other board or commission having more than one member and the terms of one or more members commence and end at different times, the compensation of all members of such board or commission may be increased or diminished at the beginning of the full term of any member thereof. No person who shall have resigned or vacated any office shall be eligible to the same during the time for which he or she was elected if during the same time the salary was increased.

   (F)   Pursuant to the provisions of Neb. RS 17-209, as amended, the Chairperson and Board of Trustees hereby direct the following compensation schedule to be in effect for all officers and employees of the village, beginning with hours earned October 1, 2008, unless otherwise noted.
      (1)   The salary and working hours of the Village Clerk shall be up to 40 hours per week at a rate of $13.49 per hour and current IRS rate for mileage on village business, plus two weeks vacation and medical insurance.
      (2)   The salary of the Water Commissioner, Street, and Sewer Overseer (Maintenance Supervisor) shall be $18.13 per hour, plus uniform service, medical insurance and two weeks of vacation.
      (3)   The salary of the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees shall be $1,500 per year plus $60 for each special meeting attended and current IRS rate for mileage on village business.
      (4)   The salary of the Vice Chairperson and other members of the Board of Trustees shall be $1,000 per year plus $60 for each special meeting attended and current IRS rate for mileage on village business.
      (5)   The salary of the manager of the swimming pool shall be up to $12.50 per hour, assistant manager $7.20 per hour, lifeguard $6.55 per hour. Appropriate adjustments as determined by the enacted changes in minimum wage will apply so the position of lifeguard is compensated at an amount of at least minimum wage. Additional per hour adjustments will be made as follows: $0.15 per year of service and $0.20 for WSI certification.
      (6)   The wages of the librarian shall be $11.39 per hour and 20 hours paid leave and assistant librarian up to $6.89 per hour and 12 hours paid leave.
      (7)   The wages of the person hauling the recycling trailer will be $25 per roundtrip.
      (8)   The wages/salary of persons hired as extra help will be at least minimum wage.
