4-105: IMPOUNDMENT OF ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE:
   A.   It is the duty of the animal control officer of the town to take into their possession any animal that may be in violation of this chapter or running at large upon the streets, curbing, alleys, public places or trespassing upon the lands of any person within the corporate limits of the town, and impound such animal. An animal impounded by virtue of this chapter shall be released to the owner or person entitled to the possession thereof upon:
      1.   Payment of the cost of feeding such animal and impoundment in such sums as set by the town board of trustees;
      2.   Proof of vaccination, registration and license; and
      3.   Proof of ownership.
   B.   If the owner or person entitled to the possession of any animal impounded under this chapter does not procure the release of such animal within forty eight (48) hours after impoundment, the animal control officer shall dispose of the animal in accordance with regulations approved by the board of trustees.    E.   Any person may take up and deliver to a public pound any animal at large in violation of this chapter. (1985 Code; amended 1986)
