(A) No request for electric or water service for other than construction purposes shall be granted with respect to any structure including, but not limited to dwellings, commercial buildings or mobile homes proposed to be served by the town’s distribution systems until the Building Inspector finds the structure to be in full compliance with the provisions of this chapter and until a certificate of occupancy/ compliance has been issued with respect to the same. However, the Building Inspector may waive the requirements for a certificate of occupancy/ compliance.
(B) Electric service and water service shall be discontinued to all structures found unfit or unsafe for human habitation or occupancy under the provisions of this chapter or Chapter 151; however, the owners and occupants shall be notified in writing in advance of the discontinuance of service.
