§ 131.06  CARRYING CONCEALED HANDGUNS ON TOWN PROPERTY.
   (A)   The Town Superintendent or his or her designee is hereby authorized and instructed to post conspicuous signs on or within each park and each building or portion of a building owned, leased as lessee, operated, occupied, managed, or controlled by the town, as well as the appurtenant premises to the buildings, indicating that carrying a concealed handgun therein is prohibited.
   (B)   (1)   Signs on buildings shall be visibly posted on the exterior of each entrance by which any member of the general public can enter the building.
      (2)   The signs posted in town parks, appurtenant premises to town buildings, shall be placed in an appropriate location to clearly indicate that the carrying of concealed handguns in the park or appurtenant premises is prohibited.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful for any person not a law enforcement officer to carry a concealed handgun on town property or in a town vehicle which has been posted pursuant to this section.
   (D)   The violation of this section shall constitute a violation of G.S. § 14-54.
