(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any firearm of any type within the corporate limits except a peace officer in the performance of his or her duty.
(B) Division (A) of this section shall not be applicable to persons participating in shooting events sponsored by a non-profit or charitable organization when the organization has obtained permission from the Board of Commissioners to conduct the event.
