(A) A copy of the rates and charges authorized by this chapter shall be conspicuously displayed on the inside of the taxicab where the same can be clearly seen by occupants of the back seat on every taxicab operated in the town; and it shall be unlawful for any driver to operate a taxicab unless the rates are displayed therein.
(B) (1) If it is determined that an owner or driver charges a passenger in excess of the metered fare or attempts to overcharge in any manner, the permit for that cab is subject to revocation.
(2) In no event shall any operator take a longer route to the destination than necessary, unless so requested by the passenger or unless an alternate route is known by the driver to be the most efficient route due to traffic conditions, road construction, trains and similar obstacles.
