§ 91.50  KEEPING STRAY ANIMALS; REQUIREMENTS, FAILURE TO SURRENDER.
   (A)   (1)   It shall be unlawful for any person in Nash County knowingly and intentionally to harbor, feed, keep in possession by confinement or otherwise allow to remain on his or her property any animal which does not belong to him or her, unless he or she has, within 72 hours from the time the animal came into his or her possession, notified the County Health Director or person duly authorized by the County Health Director.
      (2)   Upon receiving the notice, the County Health Director or person duly authorized by the County Health Director shall take the animal and place it in the animal shelter and shall deal with it as provided by the County Board of Health policy.
   (B)   It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse to surrender any stray animal to the County Health Director or person duly authorized by the County Health Director upon demand.
