Whoever violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter shall be fined not more than three hundred dollars ($300.00) or, upon failure to pay the same, imprisoned for not more than ninety days, for each offense. A separate offense shall be deemed committed for every article sold in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter and each day during or on which a violation or noncompliance occurs or continues.
