254.04 POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION.
   The Economic and Community Development Commission shall act in an advisory capacity to the Sharon City Council and shall, in general, review, evaluate and, when appropriate, make recommendations regarding economic development issues and those specific projects and developments that have a significant impact on economic development and the quality of life in Sharon. The Economic and Community Development Commission shall have the following powers and duties:
   (a)   It shall review, evaluate and make recommendations to the Sharon City Council on applications for loans and grants through the various financial assistance programs administered by the City.
   (b)   It shall review, evaluate and make recommendations to the Sharon City Council on the annual CDBG budget, including specific programs and projects detailed in the budget.
   (c)   It shall review and make recommendations to the Sharon City Council regarding City applications for state and federal grants and loans for community and economic development programs and projects.
   (d)   It shall make recommendations to the Sharon City Council regarding economic development issues, policies and programs relating to the retention and expansion of existing businesses and the attraction of new businesses to the City and region.
   (e)   It shall provide on-going monitoring of outstanding loans made by the City through the various economic development loan programs administered by the City.
   (f)   It shall make recommendations to the Sharon City Council regarding site development, land acquisition and land disposition necessary for the delivery of community and economic development programs and projects.
