All officers of the Village (except Trustees), whether elected or appointed, shall, before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, take and subscribe the oath required by law of Village officers and execute bond with security to be approved by the Village Trustees, payable to the Village, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of their several offices, respectively, and the payment of all monies received by them, respectively, to the Village Treasurer, or as may be required by law and ordinance of the Village, which said bonds shall be filed with the Village Clerk (except the bond of the Village Clerk, which shall be filed with the Village Treasurer), and which said bonds shall be in the amounts as follows: (1916 Code § 2-7)
