6-8-5: PERMITS:
   A.   No person shall operate a golf cart or UTV without having a valid permit issued by the village of Shannon and said permit must be in the golf cart or UTV when in operation or parked on a city roadway. In addition, the village will issue a sticker indicating for which year the permit is valid and such sticker must be applied to the rear of the vehicle and must be visible when viewed from the back.
   B.   An application for golf cart or UTV permit shall be available from the office of the village clerk and completed by the owner of the golf cart or UTV. The applicant shall provide a head and shoulders photograph along with the completed application form.
   C.   The permit must be renewed each year. Golf carts and UTVs may be used year round, weather permitting.
   D.   The cost of a permit will be twenty five dollars ($25.00) but will thereafter be subject to such fee as the city council determines when it establishes its annual rates. The fee shall not be prorated based on the date of issuance thereof.
   E.   Prior to issuance of a permit, the golf cart or UTV must be inspected by the Shannon chief of police or designee to verify compliance with the requirements of this chapter including liability insurance.
   F.   The village of Shannon may suspend or revoke a permit granted hereunder upon a finding that the holder thereof has violated any provision of this chapter.
   G.   Permits shall be issued only to persons who reside within the corporate limits of the village of Shannon.
   H.   Permits issued hereunder are personal to the holder and may not be assigned or transferred. (Ord. 376, 11-3-2015)
