The members of the Board of Public Works and Safety are the Mayor and two voters of the city, who shall be chosen by the Mayor and serve at his or her pleasure. The Chiefs of the Police and Fire Departments and the City Attorney are appointed by the Mayor and serve at his or her pleasure. Pursuant to I.C. 36-4-9-2, the Mayor shall appoint the heads of the Departments of Public Works, Airport Authority, Parks and Recreation, and Planning and Zoning. These appointees serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.
