The Building Commissioner or his or her designated representative shall have authority to periodically make a thorough reinspection of the installation of all electrical wiring, devices, appliances, and equipment that may be installed within the scope of this chapter. When the installation of any wiring, devices, appliances, or equipment is found to be in a dangerous or unsafe condition, the person owning, using, or operating that equipment shall be notified and shall make the necessary repairs or changes required to place the wiring, devices, appliances, and equipment in safe condition, and the work shall be completed within 15 days or any longer period specified by the Building Commissioner or his or her designated representative in that notice.
