For the purpose of this chapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
TAXICAB. A motor vehicle, designed or constructed to accommodate or transport passengers, when a charge is made for that service, the principal operation of which is within the corporate limits of the city and the suburban areas thereof, excluding what is usually defined as a bus, ambulance, funeral car, or school bus, or similar type vehicles.
